LIVING IN TIRANA

Tirana is the capital and largest city of Albania and as such it’s one of the most populated cities in the country. Because of the lively social and work life, Tirana has developed into a city chockful of attractions and places of entertainment, rightfully owning up to the status of metropolis.It is located in the center of the country, enclosed by mountains and hills with Dajti rising to the east and a slight valley to the northwest overlooking the Adriatic Sea in the distance. The European University of Tirana does not offer accommodation facilities to national or international students. However, we provide several recommendations for the international students.

Tirana Airport

1. If you want to travel by buss: Rinas Express Buss operates 12 hours (6 am to 6 pm) as an hourly bus service between the Airport and the National Museum in the center of Tirana. The single fare is 250 Albanian Lek. (www.tiranaairport.com/l/4/16/getting-here-parking/ bus).

2. Meanwhile if you desire to travel by taxi: You can pick up a taxi in front of the airport which can take you to your destination in Tirana. It cost around 20€.

ACCOMMODATION IN TIRANA

Private/shared accommodation in Tirana for international students

Most of the international students in Tirana choose to live in private forms of accommodation. Living in a private apartment means a greater privacy and less rules and procedures, unfortunately a lower level of socialization. To find a place, you can require support from the International Officer or Erasmus Buddy in UET. A different way is posting your ad for requiring an apartment in different portals and in social media groups of the city where you study at – especially Facebook.

Folé Student Residence

In the Folè residence you will find decent, comfortable, safe accommodation with high standard services and facilities as well as a lively and attractive environment for young people, safe and inclusive to live and study. “Folé” residence consists of 4 accommodation buildings with high standards and the latest technology (ventilated facade, hood system, acoustic insulation, central heatingcooling system, elevator system, camera monitoring system, anti-fire system, waste management system, etc.). The Fole residence offers free transport to the city center for all students. The residence is equipped with an anti-fire system.
